Intellectual Disability & Mental Health Services

St John of God services support children and young people through a range of educational, therapeutic, and family-centred programmes. These include early intervention services, preschool supports, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychological supports, special education services, respite care, and family support programmes.
Respite care provides short-term support and accommodation for children and adults with disabilities, giving family carers an opportunity to rest, attend to other responsibilities, or take a break from the demands of full-time caring. Respite services offer individuals a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment where they can participate in activities, build friendships, develop life skills, and enjoy new experiences.
St John of God Foundation supports services and initiatives that promote positive mental health and wellbeing for children, adolescents, adults, and older people. Funding helps enhance programmes focused on recovery, resilience, social connection, and personal wellbeing for people experiencing mental health challenges.

Tax Efficient Giving

Tax efficient giving is a way for donors to increase the value of their charitable donation without increasing the amount they personally contribute. Under Ireland’s Charitable Donation Scheme, qualifying donations can provide additional value to charities, helping organisations like St John of God Foundation maximise the impact of every gift.
Under current Irish tax rules, an individual donor must typically donate a minimum cumulative amount of €250 in a calendar year to a qualifying charity for the charity to claim tax relief on the donation. Donors should consult Revenue or their tax adviser for the latest eligibility requirements.
If you are an Irish taxpayer, you can contact St John of God Foundation to learn whether your donation qualifies for tax relief and whether any additional documentation is required. The Foundation can guide you through the process to help maximise the value of your support.
No. Where donations qualify, tax efficient giving can increase the overall value received by the charity without requiring any additional donation from you. It is one of the most effective ways to maximise the impact of your charitable support.

If you make eligible charitable donations and wish St John of God Foundation to claim tax relief on your behalf through Ireland’s Charitable Donation Scheme, the Foundation may ask for your PPS Number. This information is required by Revenue to verify your tax status and allow the charity to reclaim additional funds on qualifying donations. The PPS Number is used solely for this purpose and is handled securely in accordance with data protection requirements.
